KGL Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots football and youth empowerment with the successful rollout of the 5th edition of the KGL Foundation U-17 Colts Champions League, held in partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Since the tournament's inception in 2021, the Foundation has consistently supported the Okrakutive with financial resources, jerseys, footballs, and training equipment for all participating teams. The goal has been simple but impactful — to create a platform for talented young boys to be discovered, nurtured, and supported through sports.
Speaking at this year’s event, the President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kurt Okraku, commended the KGL Foundation for its unwavering dedication to youth football development.
“The GFA is sincerely grateful to the KGL Foundation for this long-term partnership. Over the past five years, we’ve seen real progress — not just in how the tournament has grown, but in how it has changed lives,” he stated.
Beyond unearthing talent, the initiative has positively influenced the physical, psychological, and educational well-being of hundreds of young players across the country. Many have gone on to receive mentorship, school support, and even opportunities to be scouted for higher-level football engagements.
The Foundation believes that investing in youth sports is a powerful tool for empowerment, social development, and national growth. As the tournament continues to evolve, the KGL Foundation remains committed to working closely with the GFA and other partners to ensure its impact is sustained and far-reaching.
“At the heart of this initiative is our belief that every young person deserves a chance — and sports, especially football, gives them a voice, a team, and a future,” said Mr. Elliot Dadey, CEO of the Foundation.
The Foundation extends its gratitude to the GFA, partner teams, technical staff, and all stakeholders who have contributed to the success of the KGL Foundation U-17 Colts Champions League over the past five years.
